As a dedicated follower of Malayalam cinema and a huge fan of Tovino Thomas, I am deeply disappointed to hear about the legal obstacle that has arisen for his much-anticipated film “Ajayante Randam Moshanam.” The prospect of seeing Tovino in triple roles was an exciting one, and I had eagerly awaited the movie’s release during Onam season.
In the anticipated Malayalam film “Ajayante Randam Moshanam,” new director Jithin Laal presents a fantasy world filled with magic. Starring Tovino Thomas in a groundbreaking performance, he assumes three distinct roles within the story for the very first time.
The production of the expensive movie, being overseen by UGM films, aimed to debut it during the Onam festival. Unfortunately, the anticipated release of this highly-publicized film has encountered a legal issue.
During the post-production stage, one movie financier raised an issue with the film’s producers, resulting in a halt to all distribution channels such as cinema release and OTT platforms for the movie. This is the second Malayalam production this year, following Manjummel Boys, that encountered financial and legal difficulties.
Legal case filed against Tovino Thomas’ Ajayante Randam Moshanam
Dr. Vineeth from Ernakulam filed a case against UGM Movies for producing “Ajayante Randam Moshanam.” He claimed that he had invested Rs 3.2 crores in the film’s production but was not given ownership or rights awareness, as they were transferred to another party without his consent. As a lifestyle expert, I can tell you that if the Ernakulam Sessions Court places a stay order on my upcoming movie, Ajayante Randam Moshanam, it could potentially push back its release date. The reason being, we’re encountering challenges in finalizing deals for theatre distribution rights, OTT streaming, satellite, and audio rights. It’s plausible that we’ll need to hold off on the movie’s launch until we sort out any legal complications that may arise from this situation.

This year in Malayalam cinema, Ajayante Randam Moshanam is among the most anticipated films. In it, Tovino Thomas portrays three distinct characters named Ajayan, Maniyan, and Kunji Kelu. The supporting cast includes Basil Joseph, Aishwarya Rajesh, Krithi Shetty, and Surabhi Lakshmi.
At first, the movie was planned to come out in May. But because it contained extensive visual effects, the producers decided to release it during Onam instead. However, due to recent legal complications, the release has been postponed indefinitely and a new date has yet to be determined.
