On July 19, 2024, SBS announced that actors Bona (Kim Ji-Yeon) from Twenty-Five Twenty-One, Yook Sung-Jae of BTOB, and Kim Ji-Hoon will feature in the upcoming drama titled GwiGoong. This series tells a story about an eight-faced spirit, a female shaman, and Imugi, a mythical creature that transforms into a dragon following the discovery of a unique gem.

Bona portrays Yeo-Ri, the granddaughter of a revered shaman, in this production. As she matures, she faces significant pressure to adhere to her family’s traditional vocation. However, she defies her destiny only to discover that she possesses shamanic abilities and is drawn into an Imugi’s web. In the meantime, Yook Sung-Jae takes on the character of Yoon Gap, the son of a concubine, as well as a royal inspector. He represents Yeo-Ri’s first love. His life becomes chaotic when an Imugi invades his being.

To put it simply, towards the end, Kim Ji-Won portrays King Yi-Sung, who endeavors to modernize the Joseon dynasty for a better future. He encounters an eight-faced spirit harboring a grudge against the royals. With assistance from his advisors Yoon Gap and Yeo-Ri, he seeks to unearth the spirit’s hidden motives.

The creators of the SBS K-drama “GwiGoong” have not yet revealed all the details about the upcoming show. Keep an eye out for future announcements.
