Comedy icon Bob Newhart passed away tranquilly at his residence in Los Angeles on July 18, 2024, at the venerable age of 94. As reported by his representative, Jerry Digney, Newhart breathed his last due to a succession of minor ailments.
At the moment of his death, Fox News stated that he was surrounded by dear ones. He leaves behind his four kids: Robert Jr., Timothy, Courtney, and Jennifer, as well as ten grandchildren. Sadly, his wife, Ginnie Newhart, passed away in April of the previous year at the age of 82.

Newhart didn’t limit himself to just television. He shone on the big screen in movies like “Catch-22” (1970) and “Elf” (2003). In 2013, Newhart received an Emmy Award for Best Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his role as Professor Proton in “The Big Bang Theory” on CBS.
