As a long-time fan of K-pop, I’ve seen my fair share of music videos that leave me underwhelmed. But Stray Kids’ new MV for “Chk Chk Boom” was a breath of fresh air. The unexpected appearances of Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman added an exciting twist that made the video even more enjoyable.
In the opening verse of “Chk Chk Boom,” Han and Changbin boldly declare their confidence: “I strike the black dot dead center,/ With a swift strategy, no flaw,/ In a scene with no hidden angles,/ I dance as planned, unyielding./ Tired of this mundane life, I’ve had my fill,/ Of victories piled high, so overflowing./ To take a leisurely walk, I don the belt at my waist,/ As we venture into the cosmos, all others pay homage to my strength.”
