Here is everything that happens at the end of The Boys Season 4 Episode 8.

What happens at the end of The Boys Season 4 Episode 8?

In The Boys’ fourth season episode 8, Homelander publicly announces on live television that Victoria Neuman is a superhuman (or “Supe”), igniting significant chaos across the country. Nearly taking Robert Singer’s life in the process, the chameleon-like Supe disguised as Annie comes close to succeeding. However, just before it’s too late, Hughie uncovers the deception. The genuine Annie breaks free and arrives in time to eliminate the shape-shifter.

In the midst of it all, Mallory reveals to Ryan the unsettling truth in a last-ditch attempt to persuade him into opposing Homelander. He discloses his own origins and how Homelander was responsible for the deaths on Flight 37. However, Ryan remains unconvinced and, in his attempt to depart, unfortunately kills Mallory inadvertently. With Homelander planning to manipulate her as a puppet once she becomes President, Victoria turns to Hughie and The Boys for assistance. Despite their agreement, an embittered Butcher unexpectedly appears and ends Victoria’s life with deadly tendrils sprouting from his chest. Leaving the scene, Butcher claims the Supersuicide virus that Frenchie had extracted from Kimiko’s injured leg.

When I see Homelander bemoaning the chaos around us, Sister Sage emerges with a triumphant smile. She reveals that we’ve actually succeeded in our mission. The truth about Singer’s plot to assassinate Victoria was exposed through the shape-shifter’s clandestine footage, leading to his arrest. Speaker of the House Calhoun ascends to the presidency and pledges loyalty to Homelander. In a shocking turn of events, Sister Sage unveils that there is yet another phase to our plan.

Calhoun announces the implementation of martial law and designates a large number of Supes to work under Homelander’s command directly. Towards the end of the credits, Calhoun escorts Homelander to the secret location where Soldier Boy is detained.

The fate of The Boys at the end of Season 4 finale explained

Following Homelander’s seizure of power in the US government, he dispatches both deputized superheroes and Vought military forces to capture The Boys and Starlighters. Most members of the latter group attempt to escape overseas, but a majority are ultimately located and arrested.

Hughie Campbell

Hughie and Annie make an attempt to escape by car, but Annie regains her abilities. Unfortunately, Cindy, previously detained at the Sage Grove Center during season 2, places a boat in their path, causing a collision. As a result, Hughie is apprehended by Vought troops.

Frenchie

Frenchie and Kimiko make an attempt to flee by boat, but they run into Sam Riordan and Cate Dunlap along the way. Cate employs her telepathic abilities to calmly persuade Frenchie, enabling the Vought troops to capture him.

Kimiko

Sam Riordan effortlessly subdues Kimiko and takes her into custody for Homelander’s sake. As Kimiko cries out for help towards Frenchie, he has unfortunately fallen under Dunlap’s influence already.

Mother’s Milk / MM / Marvin T. Milk

Marvin makes an attempt to flee via plane, but just as he’s about to take off, his greatest enemy, Love Sausage, emerges and knocks him unconscious at the airport. It’s safe to assume that he and the other members of the Boys have been transported to a secure compound after this incident.

Billy Butcher

In the final scene, there’s no encounter between Superman (Supe) and Butcher. Instead, Supe journeys down a deserted road, imagining Joe Kessler sitting in the backseat. He carries only one dose of the virus left and is probably planning to employ it against Homelander.

Annie January/Starlight

As a seasoned reader of comic books and a fan of The Boys series, I can tell you that Cindy’s encounter with Annie is both intriguing and intense. When Cindy confronts her, Annie, who possesses superhuman abilities, reacts swiftly. With Hughie silently urging her on, she takes to the skies, escaping the situation in a flash. Among The Boys’ ranks, only Butcher and Annie remain at large. Having followed this gripping narrative closely, I can’t help but admire the depth and complexity of these characters. Their actions keep me on the edge of my seat, eagerly anticipating their next moves.
