As a huge fan of K-dramas, I absolutely cannot contain my excitement over the possible return of “Vigilante” for a second season! The first installment of this gripping series, which stars the talented Nam Joo-Hyuk as Kim Ji-Yong, left me on the edge of my seat and craving more.
The hit K-drama “Vigilante,” featuring Nam Joo-Hyuk, could have a second season. As per a report from JTBC Entertainment News, the show will bring back some familiar faces with Nam Joo-Hyuk, such as Yoo Ji-Tae and Kim So-Jin. However, an announcement regarding the release date for season 2 is still pending.
Nam Joo-Hyuk’s Vigilante became extremely popular for its storyline, whereby a vigilante delivers his own brand of justice to criminals. Kim Ji-Yong (played by Nam Joo-Hyuk) becomes a vigilante after a personal loss and delivers justice to criminal individuals. He leads a double life, but the secret is slowly revealed when Detective Cho Heon tries to find the real mastermind. With the possible return of Season 2, it will be interesting to see Ji-Yong’s journey unfold.
Is there a Vigilante season 2 release date?
At present, the second installment of “Vigilante” lacks a specified release date. However, on July 19, 2024, JTBC Entertainment News announced that production for the next season is underway. Notably, the principal actors, including Nam Joo-Hyuk, Yoo Ji-Tae, and Kim So-Jin, are set to resume their characters in the upcoming edition.
In the meantime, the production team shared with the media that they were working on the plans for a second season of Vigilante. However, the specifics of the programming are still under consideration. Additionally, the actors’ agencies have not yet provided confirmation or clarification regarding their involvement in the upcoming season.
Kim Ji-Yong, a dedicated police university student by day, becomes a nighttime vigilante, meting out justice to those involved in despicable crimes. Haunted by the trauma of witnessing his mother’s murder as a child, he keeps his true identity concealed. As Detective Cho Heon (Yoo Ji-Tae) tirelessly hunts for him, and Reporter Choi Mi-Ryeo (Kim So-Jin) tails his actions, Kim Ji-Yong continues his mission to bring criminals to account.
The first season of Vigilante left fans excited for more, as Ji-Yong skillfully kept his true identity hidden. He joined forces with Cho-Heon, Mi-Ryeo, and Cho Kang-Ok (Lee Joon-Hyuk), forming an alliance to advance his mission. We’ll have to tune in to find out what unfolds next.
