Freaky Friday 2 Set Photo Shows Chad Michael Murray’s Return as Jake

As a long-time fan of the original Freaky Friday film, I can’t help but get excited about the announcement of its sequel. The nostalgia hits hard as I gaze upon Chad Michael Murray’s returning character, Jake, with his new hairstyle and motorcycle. I still remember how much I adored their chemistry with Lindsay Lohan’s Anna and Jamie Lee Curtis’ Tess back in 2003.

Chad Michael Murray, who is back for “Freaky Friday 2” production at Walt Disney Studios, is seen in a fresh photo with an updated hairdo and a brand-new motorcycle.

In the new movie coming soon, Murray gets together with his costars Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis from their 2003 film “Freaky Friday.” In this body-swapping comedy, Murray portrayed Anna’s (Lohan’s character) romantic interest. Initially skeptical of Jake due to Anna’s behavior, Tess (Curtis) grew fond of him after accidentally trading places with her daughter. By the end of the story, Anna and Jake were a couple, earning Tess’s blessing.

Murray’s role in the sequel is yet to be revealed, but fans can look forward to his significant presence in Anna’s storyline. Alongside Lohan, Curtis, and Murray, Harmon (as Ryan), Mitchell (as Maddie), Hudson (as Peg), Chao (as Pei-Pei), Soong (as Pei-Pei’s mom), and Tobolowsky (as Mr. Bates) will reprise their roles. New additions to the cast include Ramakrishnan, Jacinto, Butters, and Hammons.

Nisha Ganatra, who previously directed “Late Night,” will helm “Freaky Friday 2.” In this sequel, set years after the original film, Anna has grown up and is now a mother herself. Despite their seemingly idyllic life, a familiar problem from their past may resurface and cause more chaos: the body-swapping mishap that had significantly impacted them before.

In the sequel’s synopsis, it is mentioned that Anna has given birth to her own child and is about to gain a stepdaughter with Tess. As they work through the complexities of blending their families, Anna and Tess find that love may strike them once more.
