The Return Release Date Set for Ralph Fiennes & Juliette Binoche Reunion Movie

As a devoted cinephile with a deep appreciation for the art of storytelling and the magic of the silver screen, I am absolutely thrilled by the upcoming release of “The Return,” a captivating epic drama that brings back together two of my all-time favorite actors, Ralph Fiennes and Juliette Binoche. I can still recall the enchanting moments I spent watching them in Anthony Minghella’s masterpiece, “The English Patient,” over two decades ago. Their chemistry was palpable then, and I have no doubt it will be just as powerful in this new production.

Bleecker Street has made an announcement: the premiere date is set for “The Return,” an upcoming epic drama production from Bleecker Street. In this film, Ralph Fiennes and Juliette Binoche will rejoin each other on screen for the first time in over two decades since their collaboration on the critically-acclaimed war movie “The English Patient” (1996).

In the synopsis, it is mentioned that Odysseus (Fiennes), who has been away for 20 years, arrives on the shores of Ithaca, looking weary and unrecognizable. Upon his return, he finds that his kingdom has undergone significant changes in his absence. His wife Penelope (Binoche) is being held captive in her own home by suitors who are attempting to seize the throne. Their son Telemachus is in danger of being killed by these same suitors, who view him as an insignificant hindrance. Odysseus himself has been transformed by his experiences during the Trojan War and is no longer the powerful warrior he once was. However, to reclaim all that he has lost, he must find the strength to overcome these challenges.

When is The Return release date?

On December 6, 2024, The Return is set to premier simultaneously in cinemas across the country. This puts it in competition with Nightbitch, a horror comedy headlined by Amy Adams, as well as other major releases such as Kraven the Hunter, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Mufasa: The Lion King, and Nosferatu, all set to release in the same month.

Uberto Pasolini takes the helm as both director and producer for this film. He collaborated on the script with John Collee and Edward Bond. The talented cast includes Ralph Fiennes, Tilda Swinton, Charlie Plummer, Marwan Kenzari, Claudio Santamaria, and Ángela Molina. Not only does Fiennes lead the acting ensemble, but he also contributes as an executive producer, joined by Giorgos Karnavas, Torsten Poeck, Andrew Karpen, Kent Sanderson, Nicholas Sandler, and Keith Kehoe. James Clayton, Roberto Sessa, and Konstantinos Kontovrakis round out the production team.
