As a huge fan of Rian Johnson and the Knives Out franchise, I can’t contain my excitement for Cailee Spaeny joining the cast of Knives Out 3! In her interview with Total Film, Spaeny shared her admiration for Johnson’s unique approach to filmmaking, describing him as a “very rare breed” in today’s industry. His intelligence and ability to entertain while saying something meaningful resonated deeply with me as a viewer.
The third installment of Rian Johnson’s “Knives Out” murder mystery series, previously known as “Knives Out 3,” is currently being produced. This upcoming film carries the title “Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery.” Actress Cailee Spaeny, who will star in “Alien: Romulus” coming in August, is among the cast for this new production.
During an interview with Total Film, Spaeny shared why she’s eager for Knives Out 3: it’s all about collaborating with Johnson, an unconventional director known for his traditional filmmaking methods.
“Rian is an exceptional filmmaker, virtually unique nowadays. According to Spaeny, his combination of intelligence, articulation, and pure entertainment sets him apart as a director with an old-school approach. In essence, Rian possesses all the necessary traits to excel in this field.”
In the third installment of Knives Out, similar to its prior versions, Daniel Craig stars as detective Benoit Blanc in a renowned ensemble filled with A-list actors. Despite the pressure of collaborating with such esteemed actors, Spaeny remains undaunted.

I’m thrilled to share that in the upcoming Knives Out 3 movie, I get to see some familiar faces joining Daniel Craig’s investigation. Among them are Josh O’Connor, Glenn Close, Josh Brolin, Mila Kunis, Jeremy Renner, Kerry Washington, Andrew Scott, Cailee Spaeny, Daryl McCormack, and Thomas Haden Church. What a star-studded lineup!
