New The Shining Documentary Details Making of Stanley Kubrick Horror Movie

As a die-hard fan of Stanley Kubrick and his masterpiece, The Shining, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming documentary, “Shine On – The Forgotten Shining Location.” This behind-the-scenes exploration into the making of this iconic horror film is sure to provide a unique perspective that we’ve never seen before.

Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining is a movie that continues to give you goosebumps long after first watching it. Even if you thought you had seen the last of The Overlook Hotel, prepare to be surprised – a revealing look at the creation of Stephen King’s adaptation is on the horizon with an upcoming release date.

As a passionate gamer and avid fan of cinematic masterpieces, I’ve had the pleasure of watching both “Room 237” and Vivian Kubrick’s BBC documentary about The Shining. Now, IndieWire has announced an intriguing new project: “Shine On – The Forgotten Shining Location.” In first person, this means I can’t wait to delve deeper into the history of that iconic filming site, which remains the last standing reminder of where Kubrick and his team brought Stephen King’s chilling tale to life on the silver screen.

“Katharina Kubrick, the location researcher and filmmaker Stanley Kubrick’s daughter, shared that while the making of ‘The Shining’ has been extensively explored, there is a unique story yet untold. Pivotal parts of the horror classic were filmed in these very places, making it an exhilarating experience to revisit them, as if being transported back into the movie itself.”

As an avid fan, I’m thrilled to share that Michael Sheen from “Good Omens” will be lending his captivating voice as the narrator for the upcoming documentary “Shine On.” In this production, I’ll get a unique opportunity to listen to insights from key figures behind the psychological horror film, “A Clockwork Orange.”

“Finding and exploring the alleged sets from ‘The Shining’ at Elstree Studios, which have long been a subject of rumors in film history, was an incredible experience for me as the director/producer of Shine On, almost like unearthing a sacred relic,” Paul King shared in a press release.

When is the release date of Shine On?

On July 26, at 11 a.m. PST/2 p.m. EST, Shine On will make its first appearance on Stanley Kubrick’s YouTube channel. This event coincides with what would have been Kubrick’s 96th birthday.
