As a hardcore Tim Burton fan and avid gamer with a soft spot for horror-comedy movies, I can’t contain my excitement for the upcoming sequel to one of my all-time favorite films – Beetlejuice! With the recent announcement of its MPA rating, I’m thrilled to see that this long-awaited sequel will bring even more darkly delightful scares and laughs than the original 1988 classic.
Fans of Tim Burton’s 1988 film “Beetlejuice” should prepare for a more violent follow-up, as the MPA rating for “Beetlejuice 2” has been announced and it’s more explicit than the initial rating.
I’m thrilled to share that I’ll be witnessing the long-awaited return of Beetlejuice in cinemas on September 6, titled Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. Not only is Tim Burton back at the helm for this horror comedy sequel, but we’ll also have some beloved cast members rejoining the scene. Michael Keaton will once again bring Betelgeuse to life, Winona Ryder will grace us with her presence as Lydia Deetz, and Catherine O’Hara will reprise her role as Delia Deetz. It’s going to be a spooktacular event!
What is Beetlejuice 2’s MPA rating?
Although the 1988 Beetlejuice movie received a “PG” rating from the MPA, the sequel produced by Warner Bros. has been classified as “PG-13” due to its inclusion of violent scenes, gory and blood-filled images, strong language, sexual suggestions, and brief drug use. Notably, the original film was released prior to the establishment of the “PG-13” rating category.
thirty-six years have passed since the 1988 film’s events, and now the Deetz family, including Lydia, is back at Winter River following the death of patriarch Charles Deetz. Unexpectedly, Lydia encounters Betelgeuse once more when her daughter, Astrid, inadvertently summons this enigmatic being.
As a long-time fan of Tim Burton’s quirky and imaginative films, I was thrilled to read the official synopsis for “Beetlejuice.” Having grown up watching this cult classic, I can’t help but feel a pang of nostalgia as I recall the strange and humorous tale of the Deetz family.
In addition to the main cast, the film features Jenna Ortega portraying Astrid, Willem Dafoe as Wolf Jackson, Monica Bellucci in the role of Delores, and Justin Theroux playing Rory.
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice hits theaters on September 6.
