As a long-time fan of K-dramas and a follower of Lee Hyeri’s career, I couldn’t contain my excitement when I heard that she would be leading the new psychological drama “Friendly Rivalry.” It’s been three long years since we last saw her on our screens in “May I Help You,” and I’ve missed her charming presence.
Lee Hyeri has been announced as the star of an upcoming K-drama titled “Friendly Rivalry” (or “Friendly Competition”), marking her return to the small screen after a three-year absence from the K-drama industry. In this role, she will portray Yoo Jae-Yi, an affluent and attractive student with an impressive intellect.
Additionally, Jae-Yi is sly and mindful of her advantageous upbringing at Chaehwa Girls High School. She skillfully employs her position to gain favor among her peers, although some harbor resentment toward her. Unexpectedly, she reaches out to a newcomer, Woo Seul-Ki, who has difficulty fitting in. As their bond deepens, Woo Seul-Ki becomes increasingly intrigued by Jae-Yi and the friendship develops into an intense fixation.
