The Killer Trailer Previews John Woo’s Peacock Remake

As a huge fan of John Woo’s films, I was absolutely thrilled to see the trailer for Peacock’s English-language reimagining of “The Killer.” The original 1989 movie is a classic in the action genre, and Chow Yun-fat’s performance as an assassin taking on one last mission is nothing short of iconic.

Peacock released the trailer for John Woo’s upcoming English-language adaptation of his renowned action crime film, “The Killer.” In the 1989 version, Chow Yun-fat, Danny Lee, and Sally Yeh appeared as the assassin, his colleague, and a female singer respectively. The assassin embarked on one final mission to acquire enough funds for an eye operation that the singer required after an unintended mishap left her blind.

Nathalie Emmanuel, the main actor in the trailer, portrays a assassin who defies her orders by shielding a blind girl from harm instead of eliminating her. Additionally, the teaser showcases some thrilling actions scenes. The movie will make its debut on August 23, only on Peacock.

In his latest movie “The Killer,” once more at the helm is acclaimed director Woo, with a script penned by Brian Helgeland. For this adaptation, Emmanuel joins an impressive cast that includes Omar Sy (“Lupin”), Sam Worthington (“Avatar”), Diana Silvers (“Space Force”), Eric Cantona (“The Fragile Colossus”), Tchéky Karyo (“Le Femme Nikita”), and Grégory Montel (“Transatlantic”). The production is led by Woo, Charles Roven, Alex Gartner, and Lorin Tilkin deFelice. Terence Chang and Robin Fisichella serve as executive producers.
