In the first person as a fan: I was thoroughly captivated by Episode 1 of the Tarot K-drama. It opened with Ji-Woo, a loving mother, spending quality time with her young daughter. The connection between them was heartwarming, and it was clear that Ji-Woo adored her child deeply. As I observed their cozy home, I couldn’t help but notice the festive Christmas decorations adorning every corner, signaling that the joyous holiday was just days away.

As a devoted single parent, Ji-Woo works tirelessly to ensure her daughter enjoys a satisfying lifestyle. In the bustling weeks before Christmas, we found ourselves at the local mall, where my dear child’s heart was set on acquiring a captivating doll. With careful consideration of our budget, I reluctantly left the doll on the shelf, unwilling to dip into our savings.

In the first episode of “Tarot” K-drama, following Ji-Woo drawing the card, a string of strange occurrences ensues for her. She obtains a chance to make some additional income by working at the mall on Christmas Eve. However, her child is displeased upon discovering that she’ll have to spend Christmas day alone at home since her mother will be employed instead.

While at work, I anxiously video call my dear daughter to ensure her wellbeing. To my delight, she’s wearing a beautiful Christmas Eve outfit. However, my heart races when I notice someone else in the frame holding the phone. Panicking, I rush home as quickly as possible. Desperate for answers, I make another frantic call to my daughter, only to scream out of fear and concern. Upon arriving home, I’m met with an empty house – my daughter is nowhere to be found.

Towards the close of episode 1 in the Tarot K-drama series, audiences discover Ji-Woo stumbling upon a chilling painting in her search for her child at home. The painting depicts a grotesque figure donning Santa’s attire and leading a small girl by the hand. The ominous scene suggests that the creature is abducting the girl.

After finding her daughter’s discarded clothes from the video call on the floor, Ji-Woo uncovers a hidden storybook of Peter Pan. Memories flooding back, she recalls using this very book for bedtime stories. Upon opening it, she reads through to the end, revealing a sad conclusion in the classic tale.

Suddenly, Ji-Woo recalls that no one had been paying attention as she yelled on the phone. It then strikes her that her daughter has vanished, and something ominous has befallen her. The scene concludes with Ji-Woo calling out for her daughter, inquiring if she is there.
