As a dedicated gamer and follower of all things related to the entertainment industry, I’m absolutely thrilled to learn that Stephen Oyoung has joined the cast of Mission: Impossible 8! His versatility as an actor, with roles in movies, television shows, and video games, is truly impressive.

Twisters star Stephen Oyoung has joined the cast of Mission: Impossible 8.

In May 2025, the eighteenth installment of the Mission: Impossible series, originally named Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two, will come out. Tom Cruise will continue to portray Ethan Hunt in this production.

According to Deadline’s report, Oyoung has been chosen to portray a yet-to-be-revealed role in the upcoming Mission: Impossible film.

In the upcoming movie “Twisters,” which hits US theaters on July 19, Younghas co-stars Glen Powell, Daisy Edgar-Jones, and Anthony Ramos. Additionally, he provides the voice for Martin Li/Mister Negative in both the 2018 version and the forthcoming 2023 installment of the Spider-Man video game series, titled “Spider-Man” and “Spider-Man 2,” respectively.

What else do we know about Mission: Impossible 8?

The specifics of the storyline for the eighth installment of Mission: Impossible are currently undisclosed. However, it is expected that this upcoming film will continue the narrative and resolve the cliffhanger finale presented in Mission Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, which was released in 2023.

Christopher McQuarrie will once again be at the helm as director and co-writer for Mission: Impossible 8. Previously, he directed parts five and six of the series, which were released as Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation (2015) and Mission: Impossible – Fallout (2018).

Alongside Cruise, the upcoming Mission: Impossible film features Ving Rhames reprising his role as Luther Stickell, Henry Czerny returning as Eugene Kittridge, Simon Pegg as Benji Dunn, Vanessa Kirby introduced as Alanna Mitsopolis, Hayley Atwell joining as Grace, Esai Morales cast as Gabriel, Pom Klementieff playing Paris, Shea Whigham portraying Jasper Briggs, Greg Tarzan Davis assuming the character of Degas, Mariela Garriga brought on board as Marie, Rolf Saxon taking on William Donloe, Holt McCallany stepping into Bernstein, Nick Offerman added as Sydney, and Frederick Schmidt joining the team as Zola Mitsopolis.

I’m thrilled to share that some talented actors have joined the cast of the upcoming film without revealing the specifics of their roles. Among them are Janet McTeer, Hannah Waddingham, Lucy Tulugarjuk, Katy O’Brian, and Tramell Tillman. Can’t wait to see what they bring to the table!

The 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike caused a hold-up in filming, but Mission: Impossible 8 is still planned for release in US cinemas on May 23, 2025.
