DBD leak shows upcoming new skins with “interesting insight on approval process”

As a dedicated Dead By Daylight (DBD) fan with years of experience under my belt, I am beyond excited about the latest developments in the game. The recent leak revealing new upcoming Alien skins for DBD is a game-changer for me! The concept art looks fantastic, and the feedback from the approval process adds an extra layer of intrigue.

Dead by Daylight is known for its partnerships with well-known horror brands from both television and gaming industries. One of its most successful collaborations is with Ridley Scott’s Alien, which took place in August 2023. Now, a year later, another Alien film is scheduled to be released, and recent leaks from Dead by Daylight have unveiled forthcoming costumes, as well as intriguing information on the approval procedure.

As an avid Dead By Daylight fan, I’m thrilled to share some exciting news with you all! In just a few weeks, on July 25th to be precise, we’ll finally get our hands on the long-awaited 2v8 mode. But that’s not all, folks!

The second half of July is filled with excitement, while August promises to be just as eventful. In July, we have the anticipated collaboration between DBD and CastleVania, and in August, we can look forward to the release of new Alien skins to mark the launch of Alien Romulus.

Due to a data leak of approximately 1.1 Terabytes from Disney’s internal Slack system by NullBulge, previews of upcoming Dead By Daylight Alien skins for Ripley have been made public. The leaked material includes the design of the Legendary Rain skin for Ripley as well as a completely new skin concept for her.

Previously, there were rumors of a legendary “Rain” skin for Ripley being developed. Now, we get to see this skin for the first time, albeit as concept art instead of an in-game model. For those unfamiliar, Rain Carradine is the lead character in the upcoming Alien: Resurrection spin-off, Alien: Romulus. Actress Cailee Spaeny portrays her on screen.

The Alien Romulus skins for Dead by Daylight haven’t been given a specific release date yet, but they are expected to become available around the time of the movie’s premiere on August 16th. No official announcement has been made regarding this in Dead by Daylight.

I’ve come across some exciting news for fellow Alien fans! Concept art for new Alien skin designs has reportedly been leaked and is now available to view on the LeaksDBD subreddit. You can take a peek at these intriguing previews in the embedded post below. Can’t wait to see what the community thinks about these potential additions!

From an artistic perspective, the skins are visually appealing. However, what truly sets this concept art apart is the valuable feedback that comes with it. For instance, regarding Rain’s design, the suggestion is to modify her bangs and shadows to prevent interference with her eye. This adjustment is demonstrated in the before-and-after example provided.

In response to the concept art shared by the original poster (OP), TomatoSauce587 expressed intrigue, commenting, “This offers a fascinating look into the collaboration between licensors and BHVR during the skin approval stage – truly captivating.” Other players joined in, expressing amazement at the level of detail given to seemingly minor aspects, such as a hanging belt loop.

In the responses, several users have commented that Rain bears a strong resemblance to Ellie from The Last of Us Part 2. One user quips, “She looks surprisingly like Ellie from The Last of Us Part 2, so I’ll go ahead and purchase her,” while another excitedly shares, “If Ellie were ever included, I’d be thrilled.”

A segment of fans remain unhappy that BeHaviour didn’t manage to accurately capture Sigourney Weaver’s likeness for the Ellen Ripley character model. However, many players continue to express their enthusiasm for the latest Ripley skin, exclaiming their approval with exuberance.
