As a devoted fan of 911: Lone Star, I must say that this season has been nothing short of a rollercoaster ride! The twist in Episode 9, revealing the identity of Carlos’ father’s killer, was not what anyone expected. I mean, who would have thought that Ranger Campbell would be the one?

During Season 5 of “911: Lone Star”, Carlos has been persistently seeking out who was responsible for the murder of his father from last year. He’s been working with Ranger Campbell, but things took a shocking turn in Episode 8 when a dying criminal implicated someone in the Rangers as a traitor, selling information about undercover officers and informants to cartels, and named Campbell as the alleged culprit.

Did Campbell kill Carlos’ dad in 911: Lone Star?

Carlos brought his suspicions to Chief Bridges, who did some checking and told Carlos that records showed Campbell had accessed all those files on murdered cops and informants. The pair went to Campbell’s home to meet his wife, Ashley (Peyton List). They found $100,000 in his safe and were ready to bring Campbell in. Campbell used the classic “let me say goodbye” first to run.

Law enforcement officers were pursuing him, as Campbell forcefully entered a house with the intention of stealing a car and engaging in a struggle with its owner. Rangers tracked him down to a nearby park, where Campbell returned fire towards them. In a moment of observation, Carlos found it peculiar that Campbell seemed reluctant to shoot at him, even though Bridges urged Carlos to eliminate the man.

After realizing that Bridges too had the ability to view those documents, it became clear to Carlos that the weapon he possessed resembled the one used in his father’s murder. With a heavy breath, Bridges fired upon Carlos, intending to include him among his victims, but was in turn shot and killed by Campbell.

Luckily, Carlos recovered well and reached out to Campbell at the hospital to offer an apology, which was graciously accepted (it turned out the money was from winnings in card games). The story concluded with Carlos standing at his father’s grave, revealing that the Rangers intended to portray Campbell as a hero. However, Carlos chose to disclose the truth instead. He parted ways tearfully, paying tribute to his late dad.

That was a big turn, so what does it mean for Carlos in the future?

What’s next for Carlos?

In conversation with TVLine, co-showrunner Rashad Raisani explained that character Carlos may face significant consequences when it’s unveiled that a respected Ranger was actually a ruthless murderer. This revelation might have a profound impact on him.

“The midseason finale will provide additional information, but when we return in six weeks, the plot will shift to a new storyline. Additionally, there’s a time jump in the narrative, so we won’t see events like press conferences. Instead, we only have three episodes remaining and we need to cover significant ground quickly. The time jump in Judd’s story will be graceful, after which you’ll get updates on Carlos and T.K.’s situation, with specific details emerging particularly in Episode 11, where we delve deeper into their current circumstances.

As a gamer, I’m excited about the potential change in my gaming family: the possibility of officially adopting young Jonah. TK is all for it, but Carlos is hesitant, unsure if we’re ready to take on parenthood just yet. However, his past experiences with his father’s tragic death might be making him rethink things. But Raisani cautions us, it won’t be a walk in the park.

In our upcoming episode, we’ll tackle some unforeseen challenges they encounter. This situation eventually forces one character to make a crucial choice. It’s a pivotal moment that could significantly change the course of the series.
