CBS has formally renewed nine of its currently popular shows, including comedies like “Ghosts,” “Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage,” and “Elsbeth.” These freshly renewed series are slated to be a part of their 2025-2026 TV schedule.
This season, CBS is once again proving its dominance by launching and airing popular new and returning series that appeal to both broadcast and streaming audiences, according to CBS Entertainment president Amy Reisenbach. These returning shows offer a blend of established classics and fresh favorites, and we’re excited to work with our incredibly skilled collaborators in front of and behind the camera to make this season another success.
What CBS shows were renewed?
From the nine series that received renewals, it’s just Ghosts, the sitcom, that managed to secure a two-season commitment from CBS. This show is adapted from the BBC One series of the same name, which ran for five seasons between 2019 and 2023. The new American version comes from creators Joe Port and Joe Wiseman. The story revolves around a young couple who intend to transform an old Victorian mansion into a bed-and-breakfast, unaware that they’re not the only residents of the house. After one of them acquires the ability to perceive ghosts, they discover that they share their living space with other spirits.
