As a die-hard fan of Cobra Kai, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming final season! The fact that we’re getting not one but three parts to this epic finale is just mind-blowing. And with the series now on Netflix, it’s more accessible than ever before.
I can’t contain my enthusiasm! The initial installment of Cobra Kai’s sixth season is set to drop on Netflix starting July 18. This is it, folks, the last hurrah, making this premiere a bitter-sweet moment for us fans. But fear not, as this will also be the most extensive season yet, unfurling in three parts, each brimming with five thrilling episodes. The cliffhanger at the end of season 5 left us hanging on the edge of our seats, so brace yourselves for an awe-inspiring cocktail of action and drama that’s sure to leave you breathless in the upcoming episodes.
As an avid fan, I’d describe Cobra Kai as a captivating continuation of the beloved The Karate Kid saga, masterminded by Robert Mark Kamen. Initially, the first two thrilling seasons graced our screens on YouTube Red. However, when YouTube ceased production, Netflix generously took over, starting with season 3.
I’m a huge fan of the new series created by Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg. Thirty-four years have passed since the iconic 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament. From my perspective as a devoted fan, this story kicks off with Johnny Lawrence’s decision to reopen the infamous Cobra Kai dojo. This move reignites the long-standing rivalry between him and Daniel LaRusso, brilliantly portrayed by William Zabka and Ralph Macchio once again.

Kreese fakes his death and escapes from prison
In the fourth season, Terry Silver accuses Kreese (Martin Kove) of attacking a previous Cobra Kai pupil named Stingray, resulting in Kreese’s arrest. Towards the conclusion of the fifth season, Kreese orchestrates his own demise and manages to flee prison. This unexpected turn of events makes viewers suspect that Kreese will reappear as the antagonist during the final season, a theory supported by the show’s trailer.
Daniel defeats Terry Silver
In the fifth installment, several impressive karate bouts took place, yet none surpassed the thrill of LaRusso against Silver. Their animosity stemmed from “The Karate Kid III” in 1985, where Silver had defeated and disrespected him. To make matters worse, Silver bested him at the beginning of the season. However, LaRusso turned the tables using Silver’s own “Quick Silver” technique and a finishing Crane Kick – a move that LaRusso had introduced in 1984. This victory underlined Miyago-Do as the superior dojo to Cobra Kai students.
Terry Silver is arrested
The hidden camera recordings showed Silver acknowledging that he had bribed the referee, exposing the deceit of Cobra Kai’s sensei and causing most of the students to leave the dojo in disillusionment. This revelation additionally encouraged Stingray to confess that it was Silver who had attacked him, paving the way for Silver’s criminal actions to be brought to justice and his subsequent arrest.
Many rivalries were settled
Towards the end of the current season, there was an unexpected tranquility, possibly a prelude to the turmoil that may unfold in season 6. Several long-standing feuds among key characters were brought to a close. For instance, Robby (Tanner Buchanan) and Miguel (Xolo MaridueƱa) reached an agreement earlier in the storyline. Similarly, Samantha (Mary Mouser) and Tory (Peyton List) found common ground, enabling them to collaborate in apprehending Silver. Eli (Jacquard Bertrand) and Demetri (Gianni DeCenzo) confronted their past bully Kyler (Joe Seo), who had harassed them since the show’s beginning. Collectively, the students have embarked on a new chapter as they no longer represent opposing dojos for now.
Sekai Taikai tournament
In spite of the events that unfolded during season 5, Miyagi-Do, Eagle Fang, and Cobra Kai have earned a spot in the esteemed international karate competition, Sekai Taikai. The teaser hints that their students will join this global event, encountering new opponents from various parts of the world. Competing on an international stage will test each student to demonstrate their abilities like never before.
