Fortunately, streaming service Netflix is on hand to offer fresh, spine-tingling content that fits the mood perfectly during this spooky time of year.
We put together a selection of five spooky shows or movies, perfect for Halloween! Which one are you going to watch first as you munch on your treats?
Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story
This tale resonates deeply with many since it’s rooted in a real-life tragedy that took place in the upscale neighborhood of Beverly Hills. In 1989, the brothers Lyle and Erik Menendez were found guilty of brutally killing their own parents.
Ever since that incident, there’s been a debate on whether the brothers were defending themselves after years of mistreatment or if they sought the family wealth instead. We won’t delve into the specifics here, but it’s clear that this tale continues to resonate in the public mind for numerous reasons.
This limited series will premiere on Sept. 19.
It’s What’s Inside
Supporters of AMC’s “Fear the Walking Dead” might want to make themselves comfortable and prepare for a film premiering on October 4th. Kicking off the month in an intriguing manner, this movie revolves around what transpires when a wedding celebration disintegrates due to a friend who has a dubious intention.
This raises wedding-related anxieties to unprecedented heights, prompting both the audience and in-game characters to ponder reality and identity. With endless potential twists and turns, one must wonder if victory is truly attainable in this game.
Outside
In this intriguing Filipino production, audiences may discover a unique blend of zombie terror and hidden familial truths that could make it a must-watch. Anticipation builds as we eagerly await the chilling contributions this movie will offer to the horror genre.
Regrettably, there isn’t a lot of additional details available at this time, which only serves to heighten our eagerness as we wait for “Outside” to premiere on October 11th.
Woman of the Hour
You might not initially associate Anna Kendrick with such an elaborate tale, but surprisingly, a true-life serial killer made an appearance on the well-known dating program, “The Dating Game.
In 1978, Rodney Alcala, who is known for causing at least nine fatalities, was featured on the show. Remarkably, he won a date with contestant Cheryl Bradshaw. Fortunately for Cheryl, she avoided what could have been a tragic outcome by deciding not to go out with him.
This downright bone-chilling film will premiere on Oct. 18.
Time Cut
In this chilling and extraordinary movie, the concept of time travel intertwines with terror as the protagonist, Lucy, grapples with the consequences when one can alter the past. Can she prevent her sister’s ghastly demise? Will she expose the enigmatic murderer lurking among them? Unveil the identity of this sinister figure.
Are there any others who recall the year 2003 as vividly as I do, with its lingering tension and boundless opportunities that kept us all captivated? Get ready to relive those moments because “Time Cut” debuts on October 30th!
Which Netflix premiere from our list do you look forward to watching the most?
