As an avid gamer who has spent countless hours immersed in the rich tapestry of time-traveling sagas, I must say that Outlander season 7, episode 10 was a rollercoaster of emotions. While some moments were undeniably heartbreaking, there were also instances that brought a sense of closure to ongoing storylines and pushed the narrative forward in intriguing ways.
There were certainly some fun moments in the midst of the heartbreak in Outlander season 7, episode 10. Some of these moments brought closure to some stories, while others pushed the main storyline forward.
It’s worth pointing out that these “best” instances aren’t necessarily joyful ones; instead, they carry significance due to their connection to the past, their importance within the overall narrative, and their potential role in the larger picture. Of course, there will also be more subdued moments that deserve recognition.
Additionally, I strive to steer clear of topics previously explored through single character interactions whenever feasible. However, this isn’t consistently achievable, particularly when multiple characters are part of the narrative.
The flashback of Jamie and Ian
It’s clear that Jamie and Ian have a strong bond, having grown up together like close siblings. This connection is beautifully portrayed in season 7, episode 10 of Outlander. Ian’s father, loyal to his laird, instilled the art of fighting in both Jamie and Ian. However, it was his teachings on protecting their laird that held significant importance for Ian. It was a delight to witness this long-standing bond, as it adds depth to their present-day brotherhood talk.
In the game, I found myself primarily guarding Jamie on his less dominant side, a shift from the books where Jamie is left-handed. This change stems from Sam Heughan being right-handed in real life, necessitating this adjustment. The line “on your right” became “on your left” following Ian’s demise.
Jenny and Jamie getting a chance to talk
Jamie feels responsible for digging Ian’s grave on his own. Jenny suggests he ask Michael and Young Jamie for help, but Jamie refuses. This task seems like a form of atonement to him, as he wasn’t there for Ian during his illness, and perhaps due to feelings of guilt about the circumstances that led to Ian’s poor health.
This conversation provides a chance for the siblings to exchange thoughts. It gives us a sense of finality since it appears Jenny won’t be in America anymore—a departure from what was portrayed in the books. These interactions help us understand the relationships among the characters, and I find it satisfying to witness these connections unfolding here.
William protecting Rachel Hunter
In the show’s latest scene, it is revealed that Rachel has two suitors: Young Ian and William. Although she has made her choice with Young Ian, William continues to harbor feelings for her. In a poignant moment, he confessed his feelings to her, which turned out to be perfectly timed. A brawl had erupted in the stables at that exact instant.
Yet, it’s slightly earlier in time that holds a special place for him. William patiently waits for Rachel at the market as she collects necessary items. He cracks a jest about her taking so long to sprout a beard, revealing the maturity and bond developed between them during Claire, Jamie, and Young Ian’s absence. This scene underscores William’s affection for Rachel, and subtly hints at William being the one to ultimately take down Arch Bug in defense of her.
Denny being eager to do the surgery
Denny is undeniably one of the cutest characters on the show, always brimming with eagerness to learn. The interaction between Claire and Denny on the street is definitely one of my top moments, and it’s particularly memorable due to Denny’s heartwarming response. It’s a significant moment for Claire, but overall, it stands out because of Denny’s reaction.
He may not question Claire’s assertion about performing surgery, but rather seeks clarification on how she plans to execute it. He’s eager to gain insight from her, holding her ideas and research in high regard. Denny, a forward-thinking surgeon, piques curiosity about his potential impact in the 20th century.
John’s insistence on Claire marrying him
I found myself chuckling at how straightforward John proposed to Claire. It wasn’t a query, but rather a declaration, and his lack of finesse was typical of him, given the revelation in Outlander Season 7, Episode 10.
Without much deliberation, John quickly understood how to manage the situation with Claire. His instinctive response was to safeguard her, and marriage was his immediate solution. I believe this wasn’t solely about honoring Jamie or showing loyalty, but rather a genuine concern for Claire and the Fraser family as a whole. This action was primarily aimed at protecting Claire.
