As a long-time fan of reality TV shows, I must say that the two-part season 1 finale of Love is Blind UK was nothing short of a rollercoaster ride! Watching six couples navigate their way through love in pods and eventually walk down the aisle was truly an unforgettable experience.
Starting today, August 21st, I can’t wait to dive into the two-part season finale of “Love is Blind UK” on Netflix! In episodes 10 and 11, all six couples take a significant step forward in their relationships by standing at the altar. As I mentioned in my preview for the finale, this doesn’t happen every day, so it’s quite special to witness.
In the first season of Love is Blind UK, we’ve uncovered who ends up tying the knot and who calls it quits at the finale. We’ve seen both episodes, so we’re excited to spill the beans!
Spoilers ahead for episode 10-11 of Love is Blind UK season 1!
Who gets married in Love is Blind UK season 1?
It has been some time since the weddings for Love is Blind UK were recorded, so it’s uncertain if any of the three couples are still together. However, we did witness them getting married, and we sincerely hope that everything turned out well for all individuals involved in these romantic relationships.
Sabrina and Steven
Regardless of Sabrina residing in Belfast and Steven being based in London, it was clear as day to me that their wedding would take place in the final episode of the season – and indeed, it happened just as I anticipated!
Sabrina and Steven are the first pair to walk towards the altar. We were given a brief glimpse of their storyline throughout the show before they reached the altar. Right from the start, it was evident that they both replied, “I will.” And, as expected, that’s what transpired.
Sabrina and Steven are the only couple that gets marred in episode 10, “See You at the Altar.”
Jasmine and Bobby
In the eleventh episode of this season, which began with Ollie and Demi’s wedding, Jasmine and Bobby are the fourth couple to exchange vows. Towards the end of the season, there was some turmoil involving Jasmine’s mother, but it’s evident that Bobby and Jasmine share a deep and unwavering bond.
1. The pair is the second to tie the knot on the series, and we have an awesome video montage featuring them and their wedding attendees dancing at the end of the season! (Informal, conversational)
Nicole and Benaiah
After Jasmine and Bobby’s wedding, Nicole and Benaiah follow suit and tie the knot at the altar. I must admit, I wasn’t certain that Nicole and Benaiah would get married. They seemed to be a toss-up as we approached the finale, but it’s wonderful they chose to take this significant step together. Their love has been evident throughout the season, yet there were instances where they hesitated due to overthinking their relationship.
Who breaks up on Love is Blind UK season 1?
To be straight-forward, it wasn’t too surprising that not all Love is Blind marriages worked out, correct? I had quite a bit of confidence in my guesses ahead of the finale. Sabrina and Steven, as well as Bobby and Jasmine, seemed like sure bets. I was somewhat uncertain about Nicole and Benaiah, but they ended up getting married!
Initially, I sensed that the three sets of partners wouldn’t end up getting married, and indeed, it turned out that way.
Maria and Tom
In episode 10, Maria and Tom crossed paths at the altar following Sabrina and Steven’s wedding, but their encounter didn’t turn out smoothly. Throughout the whole process, Tom harbored doubts about whether his lifestyle and values aligned with Maria’s. Consequently, he decided against tying the knot. He clarified that, despite his affection for Maria, he needed more time to determine if those disparities could potentially create issues in their relationship.
It’s unclear if Maria and Tom stayed together, but we’ll likely find out soon!
Ollie and Demi
After encountering an intriguing beginning with the pods, Ollie and Demi’s bond evolved significantly once they decided to share a home. It appeared as if they were each fostering the best qualities in one another. In episode 10, Demi was the first to speak, opting against marriage with Ollie. Though he seemed taken aback, Demi made it clear that this decision didn’t mark the end of their relationship. She acknowledged that they had issues to address and expressed her love for Ollie in front of friends and family.
It appears that Ollie and Demi parted ways more amicably compared to Maria and Tom. It’s intriguing to see if they managed to stay together post-filming, and learn about their relationship developments since the show concluded.
Catherine and Freddie
Among the six pairs, I had the greatest doubts concerning Freddie and Catherine. Although their affection for each other was evident from the start of the series, there were certain aspects that appeared excessively challenging for this young couple. Regrettably, those issues proved to be insurmountable at the altar.
In episode 11, it was me and my partner who were set to tie the knot last. As Catherine said her ‘I dos’, I found myself admitting my love for her, yet expressing that the timing just wasn’t suitable for me. Despite this, I reached out to give her a comforting hug, but she gently requested me not to, whispering those words instead.
Afterward, it appears as if Freddie is making efforts to mend things so they can maintain their relationship moving forward; however, Catherine feels deeply wounded and ashamed due to the recent events.
Did they get back together? We’ll find out soon!
That’s the recap of the Love is Blind UK season 1 finale!
