As a devoted enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that the Television Academy has officially revealed the complete roster of candidates for the 2025 Emmy Awards, setting the stage for their 77th annual Primetime Emmy Award extravaganza. The live unveiling was ably hosted by none other than the talented duo, Harvey Guillén and Brenda Song.
In the comedy realm, Seth Rogen’s latest Apple TV+ show The Studio has taken over, matching The Bear’s record set in 2024 for the most nominations in a single year with an impressive 23. On the other hand, Adam Scott’s Severance series is reigning supreme in the drama category, boasting a whopping 27 nominations. As per the Television Academy, this year’s nominations saw a record-breaking turnout of voting members, marking the largest in Emmy history for 2025.
Furthermore, both DC Studios and Marvel Studios’ superhero shows were honored by the Academy. Notably, HBO Max’s The Penguin series is dominating this year’s category for Limited or Anthology series with a total of 24 nominations. Colin Farrell was nominated for Lead Actor, Cristin Milioti for Lead Actress, and the series itself received a nomination for Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series.
In contrast to WandaVision, Marvel Studios’ Agatha All Along series was overlooked in all significant acting categories at the Emmys. Despite this, it earned three nominations: Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics, Outstanding Fantasy/Sci-Fi Costumes, and Outstanding Sound Editing for a Comedy or Drama Series (Half-Hour).
Who are the 2025 Emmy Award nominees?
Nate Bargatze will be the host of this year’s 77th Emmy Awards, airing live on Sunday, September 14 (8:00-11:00 PM EDT/5:00-8:00 PM PDT) on CBS. For the third consecutive year, Jesse Collins Entertainment will serve as the executive producer of the event.
