2 new Walking Dead universe shows are now on Netflix (and 2 more are coming soon)

As a seasoned gamer and a die-hard fan of The Walking Dead saga, I must say that my heart skipped a beat when I heard the news about Netflix bringing more spin-offs into the fold! After years of waiting patiently for new content, it’s like Christmas has come early.

As a diehard fan, I must say, the universe of “The Walking Dead” has significantly expanded since its initial run. It all began with the spin-off series, “Fear the Walking Dead,” and since then, numerous shows have sprung up in its wake, following the conclusion of the original show.

For quite some time, “The Walking Dead” was exclusively available on Netflix. Since AMC holds the rights to this show, they opted to keep the spin-offs on their own platform instead. Given that Netflix was concentrating on producing its own series, and there were indeed a couple of zombie shows in development, this decision made sense.

Starting from now, Netflix has decided to go back to acquiring content, which is fantastic news for fans of “The Walking Dead”. As of August 19th, two spin-offs of the series are currently streaming, and two additional ones will be available shortly!

Fear the Walking Dead and 1 other spin-off now on Netflix

At last, the day has arrived! After what felt like an eternity, every season of Fear the Walking Dead is now streaming. Since it’s a spin-off from The Walking Dead, I’d highly recommend bouncing back and forth between them if you want to follow the story in chronological order.

If you don’t mind jumping into a story without worrying about its chronological sequence, then you’ll likely want to delve right into “Fear“. The narrative primarily unfolds from the perspective of Madison Clark, a high school guidance counselor, who is struggling to bring up her two kids alone after losing her spouse. With the onset of the apocalypse, she formed an alliance with English teacher Travis Manawa; however, merging their families proved to be more complicated than expected, introducing unexpected chaos.

In a post-apocalyptic world, it’s all about survival. Occasionally, individuals find themselves stranded. But what transpires when certain people begin hindering the progress of others?

Currently streaming on Netflix is a new spinoff titled “The Walking Dead: Focus on Daryl Dixon.” Originating from AMC, this series has just one season available so far. The entire first season can be enjoyed in one go.

In my gaming world, I find myself stepping into the boots of Daryl Dixon, a survivor from The Walking Dead universe. After a twist of fate, I’ve landed in Paris – ground zero for the zombie apocalypse. My mission now is twofold: navigate my way back home and aid the residents of this city in their survival against the undead hordes. This adventure unfolds post-events of The Walking Dead, and it seems that in the upcoming second season, I’ll be rejoining forces with the resourceful Carol.

2 The Walking Dead spin-off shows coming to Netflix soon

According to Variety, two additional spin-offs will be added to Netflix starting on Monday, January 13.

The Walking Dead: Dead City
The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Lived

The initial spin-off centres around an unlikely duo, Negan and Maggie, as they embark on a journey together. Their destination is Manhattan, a city severed from the mainland since the beginning of the apocalypse. Now it’s a decaying urban jungle inhabited by survivors and the undead. The question remains: can Maggie and Negan endure the hardships to find what they require? And when will they reach their breaking point, leading to potential conflict between them?

Titled “The Walking Dead: The Survivors Return,” this miniseries chronicles the reunion of Rick and Michonne, along with Rick’s quest to find his daughter Judith once more. This path won’t be an effortless one, however.
