As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement upon hearing about Boss Team Games’ new projects based on John Carpenter‘s Halloween. As someone who grew up watching the original film and has spent countless hours immersed in various horror games, this collaboration feels like a dream come true.

Boss Team Games unveiled that they are developing two brand-new video games inspired by the Halloween series, with John Carpenter playing a significant role in one of them.

The creators of Evil Dead: The Game are planning to work on two new projects, inspired by the 1978 slasher movie. Notably, one of these projects will be developed using Unreal Engine 5, with a substantial contribution from John Carpenter – an avid gamer, synth enthusiast, and renowned director.

In simpler terms, the press release indicates that these games offer an opportunity for players to reexperience significant scenes from the movie and assume roles of legendary characters from a timeless and influential horror film.

A carpenter, known for his significant role in the project’s progression, made a concise remark about the recent developments when approached by the media.

Hey there fellow gaming enthusiast! Excitedly speaking as a passionate gamer, I can’t hide my excitement about being part of reviving the iconic figure, Michael Myers, in this upcoming game. And let me tell you, it’s not just about bringing him back; it’s all about giving you an unforgettable fright-fest experience that will leave you shaking with fear!

Steve Harris, CEO of Boss Team Games, expressed his excitement about their collaboration, stating, “Everyone at our team is diehard horror enthusiasts, and Halloween holds a particularly dear spot for all horror aficionados. To be able to work with legendary characters like Michael Myers and expand upon John Carpenter’s initial concept is nothing short of a dream come true. The entire Boss Team is ecstatic and humbled by the opportunity to collaborate with Malek Akkad and John Carpenter, striving to create an exceptional, unique experience that both movie and video game fans will cherish.”

Previously, Boss Game Studios acquired the rights for the horror game, “Evil Dead: The Game.” This entertaining multiplayer homage to Sam Raimi’s bloody and humorous horror series showcases familiar characters and settings from the franchise. A group of survivors face off against an evil force manipulated by another player, known as the Deadite. The Deadite has the ability to possess objects and players before finally manifesting physically to eliminate its opponents. The survivors aim to send the Deadites back to their original realm through intense combat scenarios.

John Carpenter is also working on another game, this time from Saber Interactive, who are behind Boss Game’s Evil Dead. In “John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando”, players will assume control of a commando character, join forces with friends, and aim to banish the Sludge God and its unspeakable horde back to the underworld. The game is set for release on PS5, Xbox, and PC; however, an official launch date has yet to be announced.
