In more straightforward terms, “Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 could be one of the finest medieval open-world RPGs recently released. It offers intricate narratives and a raw authenticity. The game strikes an excellent balance between engaging role-playing elements and simple enjoyment.
What truly sets it apart is the abundance of intricately designed side missions found in both Trosky and Kuttenberg. Some will bring laughter, while others present difficult ethical dilemmas, and a handful even alter the game’s surroundings.
Indeed, that’s spot-on. Side quests should be designed like that, and Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 seems to have nailed it perfectly.
These ten side quests particularly resonated with me due to their exceptional storytelling, significant outcomes, or lingering impressions from my gaming experience.
10.
Blacksmith Radovan’s Subplot
Start from Scratch
Following an unexpected opening scene, it’s now time for you to secure employment and infiltrate the Semine wedding. Blacksmith Radovan could potentially help you gain access.
In simpler terms, his side story starts by teaching him the art of blacksmithing again, followed by a journey from Semine to Apollonia to retrieve stolen items. The story concludes with him crafting a sword as a wedding present.
The length of this chain is quite substantial, but undeniably valuable. To start with nothing and learn a fair trade from Radovan’s journey is truly invaluable. This path not only shows you how to acquire the coin but also instills honesty in your craft.
9.
Invaders
Drinks or Blades

Following the chaos you and Hans caused at Betty’s Inn in Trosky, you might want to take on the Invaders side mission as a way to apologize. This will lead you to assist some Cumans, which is not welcomed by the locals, causing tensions to rise. Eventually, a fight breaks out.
For Henry, there’s a deep-seated animosity towards them, and it doesn’t take much to escalate the tension. However, quite unexpectedly, these Cumans aren’t entirely unsavory, and aligning with them might not be the most ill-advised decision.
If you play your part skillfully, the evening won’t turn into a tragic scene of violence, but rather a joyous celebration with mugs filled to the brim. This is one of the early missions that demonstrates that not every situation requires a sword fight; sometimes, maintaining peace can be as thrilling as any battle.
8.
Lost Honor
Fall of a Knight

During your rapid journey from Devil’s Den to Miskowitz, it’s possible that you might encounter Sir Jezhek, a fallen knight who has turned to thievery as a means of survival and is seeking the Lost Honor.
He’s not your typical outlaw; a brief encounter or minor struggle will reveal that he’s more frantic than fearsome.
It transpired that, in a duel, he suffered the loss of his horse, armor, and reputation – all as a consequence of challenging Zavish over his actions that led to a village being set ablaze.
To lend a hand, initiate the “Lost Honor” mission officially, a task that involves retrieving his stolen equipment from Sigismund’s Camp.
7.
The Fifth Commandment
Love and Murder

If you’re smitten by Katherine, this journey secures your chance with her, but, much like many valuable pursuits, it isn’t straightforward.
As a gamer, I’ve found myself drawn into an eerie mystery in the town of Kuttenberg. A series of bizarre murders, targeting innocent women, has sent chills down my spine. My character, Katherine, is visibly shaken by these events and it’s evident that this hits close to home for her.
In the immersive world of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, there are some individuals who seem irredeemable, and the character involved in this particular mission serves as a striking illustration of this reality. For the sake of clarity, I’d rather not disclose their name.
Ultimately, the decision rests with you, but it’s a challenging call to make, one that resonates deeply not just for you, but also for Katherine.
6.
Battle Of Frogs And Mice
Medieval Mayhem

Among my favorite quests in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, The Battle of Frogs and Mice stands out as absolutely hilarious, in a delightfully over-the-top manner.
In the small town of Trosky, the neighboring settlements of Zhelejov and Tachov find themselves locked in a longstanding dispute over a meadow. This feud culminates every year in a traditional fight, and this particular year, you unfortunately find yourself right smack in the middle of it.
To begin with, you’re initially causing a bit of mischief by daubing insults on bulls, swiping maypoles, and guiding sheep through the wash. It’s all quite chaotic, yet oddly endearing. Both sides are eager for your assistance in their Frogs and Mice escapades.
In the conflict between Frogs and Mice, you could escalate the situation by choosing a side and potentially damaging your standing with the opposing party, or find a lasting solution to resolve the whole issue once and for all.
5.
Miller Kreyzl’s Subplot
Thief with Plans

From our first experience with the game, we learned that one should never blindly trust a miller entirely. Kreyzl follows this lesson as well.
Conversely, he’s the shadier counterpart to Radovan and wastes no time teaching you how to steal.
Initially, his secondary mission involves grasping fundamental thief skills, however, it soon escalates to infiltrating rat-houses, exploring gunpowder storage areas, and acquiring confidential papers.
Initially, he insisted his actions were for research, but it was revealed that wasn’t true; instead, he was manufacturing explosives. Despite my suspicions about him, I found myself fascinated by this intriguing twist in the storyline. There’s an undeniable charm to its shady undertones.
He said his work was for research, but it turned out he was making explosives instead. Despite my reservations about him, I couldn’t help being drawn into this mysterious subplot, which had a certain allure with its sinister vibe.
4.
Troubadours
For Lutes and Laughs

In a playful diversion, Henry finds himself amidst the tumultuous existence of two melodramatic minstrels, George and Michael, who are the Troubadours.
In your assistance, they manage to swipe a lute, but unfortunately, its strings break. Repairing it leads you into the peculiar adventure known as the Lackey quest, should you not have completed it yet.
The compensation isn’t money or items, but instead, a tune dedicated to you at the tavern where you gather together. It might seem nonsensical and without purpose, yet it brings an indescribable delight.
3.
Mouth Of Hell
Mine of Madness

Contrary to its ominous title, the Mouth of Hell side quest has a quirky rather than terrifying vibe. The townsfolk of Old Kutna believe that a demon dwells within an abandoned mine, so they task you with entering it armed with offerings instead of weapons.
Instead, as you approach the mine’s entrance, a weak platform collapses beneath you, sending you plummeting downwards. At the bottom, what appeared to be a terrifying demon actually turns out to be an old and solitary knight hired to safeguard the mine until his replacement arrives.
To be frank, I felt compassionate towards him rather than afraid, and by conducting a thorough investigation of the mines, you could potentially free him from his responsibilities.
2.
Bellatores
Blood Ties

Should you find yourself in Kuttenberg’s Bylany at some point, don’t think twice about looking for Sir Jan Posy of Zimburg to join Bellatores. You’ll discover that an unfortunate incident involving a caravan attack has left his brother in the hands of the Cumans.
In this scenario, you’re going to team up with Jan and investigate the hideout location. After that, we’ll trace our path towards Zimburg Castle, where the Cumans have established their camp. Your objective there is to either launch a direct attack or devise a stealthier approach during the nighttime to rescue his brother.
Instead, Bellatores distinguishes itself not only by the rescue mission but also by initiating an unexpectedly intimate subsequent journey that delves more profoundly into the lives and histories of the Zimburg brothers than one might anticipate.
1.
Bad Blood
The Past Never Dies

Bozhena and Pavlena were there for you and Hans when it mattered, Now it’s your turn to step up.
In the novel “Bad Blood“, an unsettling episode from their history resurfaces, stirring up ancient pain. This reemergence ultimately triggers a chain of events including murder and vengeance, with Pavlena serving as the central figure.
In Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, each decision carries significance, so I’d recommend avoiding spoilers about the storyline titled “Bad Blood” if you want to fully enjoy it.
